You do have the Freedom to Choose your options in taking back your health!  Each one of our practice members has specific options in acceptance of Chiropractic care.  It is your responsiblity to choose the care that is best suited for you.  You have the freedom at any time to change your mind and pursue any of the other options.  IT’S YOUR CHOICE.  The following is a list of your options with a brief explaination of the responsiblities that go along with them.

Option 1.  Ignore the symptoms or the dis-ease.  “Maybe it will go away”  are the 5 most dangerous words!  You may choose to not pursue any action, simply hoping that the condition goes away on it’s own.  You must realize that there are potentially dangerous ramifications for ignoring a problem.  It could become worse and possibly life threatening.  Waiting too long to treat many conditions often causes irreparable harm.

Option 2.  Treat it medically or therapeutically.  This is the most common choice, whether taking prescribed or over-the-counter drugs or having major surgery.  The consequences of this choice are many.  Covering up the symptoms while neglecting the cause is one.  Often times, the treatment is worse or more dangerous than the condition.  This option is not available in this office.  Chiropractic does not seek to treat diseases or their symptoms.  If you choose this action, another health care provider such as your family doctor is the appropriate place to begin.

Option 3.  Chiropractic care.  If you choose this option, you must realize that you are essentially choosing to ignore the symptoms/dis-ease WHILE you are making a positive contribution to your health by having nerve interference caused by subluxations corrected.  You will in essense be improving your health via Chiropractic care giving your body a greater capacity to heal itself by enabling your body to work more efficiently.

Option 4.  Medical Care AND Chiropractic Care.  Since medicine and Chiropractic have different objectives, it is very possible for you to be under the care of a medical doctor and a Chiropractor at the same time.  The M.D. is fulfilling his objective – the treatment of symptoms/disease.  While the Chiropractor is making sure the body has good nerve supply so that it’s potential to heal itself is maximized.

IMPORTANT:****Please understand that you have the right to change options at any time.  This is your life and your health.  It is my goal as your Chiropractor, in addition to providing quality Chiropractic care, to enable you to make a decision based on knowledge rather than ignorance, fear, or both.

If has been my professions experience that Chiropractic care is most beneficial during the lifetime of an individual, rather than sought out for temporary fixes to improve mechanical subluxation malfunction.
